Strange events begin to plague the boys even before they leave New Jersey, and once in Canada they are shadowed at every turn by the mysterious La Mort Rouge, the inexplicable 'Red Death', resulting in an outcome so unexpected, so beyond the scope of their imaginations, that the boys must summon every last ounce of their courage and resolve to master it.
